Temple of Stone, Zion

There are only a couple ways into Zion National Park now...by shuttle or by bike. Last month, we chose bikes (electric, because it's not a short distance in and out). It was a quiet, blissful way to see the park and magically, we hit it at the absolute peak of Fall colors. There were a lot of scenes to chose from, so this may be only the first painting, but I loved the bright yellow, backlit trees in the foreground and the challenging rocks towering behind. There's simply no way to pack more beauty into one spot in the world and delving into that beauty in person and then reliving it by painting it is exactly what I needed. It's my Temple of Stone.
