Daintree Mist

After many years of studying and spending time in rainforests, I was looking forward to seeing the primal rainforest that used to be continentally connected to the American rainforests. The Daintree. It's in the far northeast part of Australia and my first glimpses of the large unbroken swaths of rainforest were from a train's window. This painting marks those first moments, seeing the light brush the tree tops in a curved line while mist rose from an unseen waterfall below. I knew it would become a painting.
