The Rainforest Cure

This small spot on earth is one of my favorites...the upper platform on the Canopy Tower in Panama, a place I've returned to many times. On this particular morning, I rose early, climbed up the 50 something stairs, popped out the hatch at the top, and was walloped by a warm, humid wind. Thunder, lightening and then toucans were next. It was an overwhelming moment. I had an immediate, deep sense that all that ails me was cured in that powerful, colorful, explosion of light and life. I knew I would want to relive that moment while painting it.
